What are PERILS?
Perils are risks associated with occurrences or acts of nature which may damage your home (or its contents if you rent.) Most common perils include fires, wind, theft, injuries, and lightning. Homeowners policies usually cover only those perils specifically mentioned within the policy. However, many policies will allow the flexibility to list added perils such as earthquakes, water damage, explosions, vandalism, damage from rodents or pests, and even war if need be.
